I keep the weather.com on my internet all the time to keep track of what the weather is like outside....as if I can't just look out & see it, or step out the door & feel that it's more than just cold.

But I like to see what the future might hold, since this Kentucky weather is so different from anything I have experienced before.

So the huge warning this week is that the warm air is coming in over the cold that is currently over the area......giving way to No....not snow......but ICE STORM. Everyone sounds like it's a pretty horrible thing....something I haven't experienced before, so haven't the foggiest idea of what I might be dealing with.

The last week, we had freezing rain...it was strange waking up in the morning with all the branches hanging on the trees, weighted down with a layer of ice on them....i'm figuring that an ice storm it that only worse.

Kentucky had handed me out more weather in these last few months than I have lived with for a lifetime. When I bought the farm......the thunder storms were huge & my poor doggie would just run & hide as he heard the thunder coming.....then came the drought....no rain....too try to dig a hole in the ground because of how dry it was.

Now came winter......my first snow fall Jan 1....way to start the new year....my favorite SNOW. We have had several days of the light stuff so that by afternoon, it's all gone....then in the middle of winter.....I was stuck in the basement most of the night for the tornadoes.....I heard that there were 15 tornadoes that touched down around this area.....that's a bit much for me..........the California person who only has to deal with earthquakes & hurricane force wind that blew a tree down on my neighbors house.....oops.

We have had COLD weather here...continuous all winter....from the California desert that stays in the 40's during winter to here that is in the teens constantly.....my California blood isn't ready for that...neither are my doggies.

I took daddy dog out for his potty walk this morning...was getting pelted by little ice crystals. I brought him back in his crate & he stood there shivering. I got out a huge towel & wrapped him up & rubbed him dry & warm. He stood there wiggling in my arms with huge kisses for getting rid of his shivers.

I was used to winter weather in Wyoming when I would spend 2 weeks in my vacation home...sometimes -40 (no windchill). But I was only there on vacation....not living in it like I am here.

I am praying the ice storm doesn't develop like the warning states....I have plans this evening & don't want them to get messed up....I can't imagine driving on icy streets & having the trees covered with ice & breaking branches & power lines......I have a picture in my mind of what an ice storm is like.....sure am praying it doesn't develope to that extent.
