I have been there too. My daughter is 10, and I loathe going to kid birthday parties. I just never fit in with the other adults. The last party my daughter was invited to was at this huge multi-story golf driving range (with super expensive food as well). It was at least a 45 minute drive from hone, so I couldn’t easily leave and pick my daughter up later. Plus, the place was packed. OMG, I think that was the worst kid birthday party I had ever been to. They didn’t even invite any other kids from my daughter’s school whose parents I may have vaguely known. Mostly, the kids were from the girl’s church, in entirety different school districts than she and my daughter, so I only knew the parents of the birthday girl. Ugh, it was awful.
