3,623 steps. I went up a steep hill for half of a mile. The person I was with could not go any further. The walk down was much easier. My watch with an adjustment tells me a bit over 100 calories. Even though the hill was steep, I was only walking. According to an online MET calculator that considers grade of road and BMR, this comes to 63 calories burned. My watch shows about 105 net calories burned. This watch can substantially exaggerate at walking speed. I will use the 63 calorie value. So my target is 2,363 calories. I have consumed 2,423 calories. So there is an overage of about 60 calories. Not too bad.
