I had some ideas to share regarding your cats and evacuating. How about putting the supplies you might need - litter, food, dishes, etc. in the SUV and leave them there? That way you don't have to take the time to load them if you have to flee. If it looks like the fire is headed your way could you confine the cats (like in the bathroom) so you don't have to chase them to put them in their carriers?
