Of course. People do not know the first thing about mental illness yet they act like they know everything. I am a victim of discrimination, classmates thought I am "slow" (euphemism for intellectual disability) and so just to get a good laugh, they tried to 'teach' me wrong things, like spitting on your hands and then styling your hair or eating leaves of trees. One of the @$$holes went as far as cutting my fingers with a razor blade. That same guy punched me in the eye, leaving it bloodshot red for a few weeks, and it still hurts whenever it gets irritated. I dissociated it, and after realization, that mother****er asked "who dun it?" and I don't remember my response.
