I'm sorry that you're feeling so alone! My mother is bipolar, so when I finally spoke up about what was going on with me she was a great help. It took me a long time to admit there was a problem and seek help, I was in denial myself.
My grandmother however was not... understanding. One of the meds my mom takes, zyprexia made her put on a great deal of weight. My mother has struggled with suicidal tendencies since I was a child. She was hospitalized for it against her will when I was 12ish. My grandmother was aware of all of this and her main concern for my mother was not that my dad, the love of her life, just died, or that she has been battling severe depression for 40 years; it was that she was "so fat."
Some people truly amaze me.
