you raise a good point about people thanking you because they read the posts.

so it begs the question.. why not just call the button like, not thanks?

my first thought would be because that's how they do it on social media and social media triggers some users (including myself), so they wouldn't want that as the name of the button

but it has got me thinking.

I wonder how many users get upset, say because no one thanks them for their posts
