Maybe not Alzheimers but some kind of memory loss. It definitely sounds like she's dealing with something more than strep throat! I'm sorry, Granite. It sucks when our Ts get sick, but that's when we realize they're just regular people.

I also wonder if Ts have to notify their clients when there is a serious medical problem and they will be gone for a while. Maybe your T isn't ready to divulge what's going on, because it's personal and private, but I think they should tell long term clients, at least the basic information.

The important fact is, granite, that this isn't about you. Your T has always shown that she cares a great deal about you. It seems like she's hoping she'll recover and get on with your therapy. You also could be blunt and ask her what's going on, but I know you wouldn't do that.

You have made much progress with your T! Remember when you couldn't talk at all? Maybe this is a good time to check out another T, while you're waiting for yours to come back. But please don't blame yourself for T's problems.
