Maybe she thought she was trying to help. Or maybe she needed some support in dealing w/ this. We are not easy to deal with & can be very draining to a person. But still, that's no excuse w/o your permission.
Please don't let it bother you too much. You can't take back what she said but you can be responsible for how you handle it. Which you did a good job with in being calm yet assertive about it. You did good in the face of this surprise.
