Exercise can help. It's the only thing that kept me going for a long time. I didn't go on medication until my depression go so severe I couldn't make it to the gym.

I think exercise for me is more effective than any drug I've tried. However, I now need the drugs to be able to exercise. (It doesn't do much for my mood, it just gives me the energy to get out of bed.)
