The DOD recently unveiled a new non-arms-bearing helicopter to add to it's arsenal. It's called the UH-72A Lakota. They say the name was chosen because the Lakota "were" peaceful. That one made me laugh. Does it mean they are violent now, or does it mean they no longer exist.

Did you know it's a RULE to name all new military helicopters after American Indian tribes? That one struck me as strange too.

My husband was in the other room one day watching TV, and I heard something being said about a group of Apaches moving in to join a fierce battle. Thought he was watching his "Wild West" history programs. I was expecting to see PEOPLE, not whirlybirds.

Maybe the DOD should think about naming future weapons of war after Christian denominations. It would be interesting to hear the news reports....

"In today's news, three Catholics and two Protestants were shot down today. There were no survivors. In other news, the DOD has found serious flaws in the Methodists - so they will no longer be in service."

Gee, do ya think anyone might get upset by hearing such news?

Same here. I have some Lakota friends who would give me the shirts off their backs if I needed it, and have ALWAYS been there for me when I needed them. Hmmm....I've never checked them for a pulse. How bout you? Hope their not extinct.
