 I'm so sorry. You need to do what you have to do to get decent sleep. Let us know what the doctor says, and call back persistently if you hear nothing. Are there other sleep meds you can take that would be safe for you? The first time I had to go IP was for not sleeping 3 days straight, where it got unsafe for me to drive a car, even just backing up from my apartment parking lot was horrible with so little sleep. I remember I nearly hit a car then because of it. That's when I called my therapist (I was at university at the time, using the free therapist visits I had) and asked her to connect me to a psychiatrist or someone who could get me sleeping again, and that resulted in having to go IP.
