It can be for normal chat as well but I think members should be aware that when they join that room, the discussion can and may be of an adult nature. There are just some things that adults would like to chat with other adults about and not have to worry about young ears. It's a respect thing too. We should be respecting other members in the chat rooms and realize there is a large gap in the age groups who join chat, from young teens to seniors.

its my belief that sex talk is no longer allowed in the adult chat room per this thread....

i think you have to make a private chat room and invite only one person that also wants to discuss sex and then the two of you talk about sex as long as the other person is wanting to.
to make a private chat room you need to be a chat host. anyone can be a chat host if they meet certain rules/ criteria.
I think the adult chat room is for anyone aged 18 or above that wants to talk about any topics that fall with in the same rules as the boards but dont want to be discussing the same issues with minors.
I think of it like the boards only talking in real time with someone who can talk back to you right away instead of on the boards waiting for people to reply to a thread.
for anyone ..... you can find the chatting rulse in chat announcements. you click on community feedback and technical then click on the forum title chat announcements. lots of stuff to know before entering chat on whats ok and what isnt and what to do when encountering problems.
