I was officially diagnosed with DID just over a year ago. The only people who know are my psychiatrist and my psychologist. I don't need or want to tell anyone else. So instead of worrying about whether others will leave or stay you could just not tell them if you want. Nobody needs to know if you don't want them to. I don't even tell my PCP. She doesn't need to know either.
Mm yeah I suppose that is the problem here. Well the worry anyway. And I'm well aware that a worry is just that, but it doesn't make it go away. The thing is, it would just be so much easier to explain things or just be able to open up...My mom knows me and she did notice my alters behave different from me but she doesn't know why. It's just be nice to be able to explain some of the things that make us different from each other. I absolutely love socks but Beyond hates them, just as an example. I can't really speak much for him or any of the others but I'll bet you anything they'd like to be acknowledged for who they are. In any case right now would be a horrible time to bring it up, my family just has so much going on right now.
