RE: Medical bills. Our local university hospital used to agree to low payments. They now demand higher payments or send bills to collection. There is little room for negotiation. more and more hospitals are doing this.
People can apply for the hospital's financial aid program, but if they make too much to qualify, there is no negotiation, you make huge payments or the bills go to collections here now.
