I have done a fair amount of both over time. I do like to have shared a laugh or 2, and have some things in common with people I ask to be friends, definitely.

I also prefer to wait until I know people pretty well, and can imagine conversing with them more in PMs.

I've met such amazing strong and brave people here, over time. It's definitely one of the safer forums to participate in.
