My pdoc went out on a "sudden medical leave" last week. I have an appointment scheduled for September 3rd, but I'm very stressed from worrying about her leaving. The last 3 pdocs I've had in my town all left with absolutely no warning or closure. I think that is professionally terribly irresponsible, but that's what they do. Tough luck for the patients. Finding another pdoc anywhere near where I live would be unlikely.

How unsettling!
It's kind of strange that your primary care is not more proficient with psych meds, imho. Some primary care docs around here are having to manage psych meds simply because we have a huge shortage of pdocs.
I hope your pdoc is okay and is staying.
Very scary!
