Possible trigger:

I still have directions to the train station in my purse. There's still no fence. I can almost feel the earbuds in my ears, almost hear the music in my phone, almost feel the ties under my feet shaking as the train approaches.

It would be a mercy. Just like what I had to do for my dog to end his suffering. Except no one is there anymore to end mine so I have to do it myself.
