Honestly, my GP doesn't know jackshit about anything. All she does is use a special doctor's version of Google to look things up. (I've seen her do it on her laptop.) She just types in symptoms and it comes up with possible conditons along with commonly prescribed meds for said conditions. Or she can look up a medical condition that the patient already has. She can also see previous doctors' notes. So the only thing she needs to do is say, "okay, I'm going to need some time to review your records and I'll get back to you within a week. We will likely have to schedule another appointment." But no, she doesnt do that.
Like wtf lady. Good job on failing to take care of your patients.
Oh, and another thing. She should AT LEAST knows about community mental health centers for those struggling with finance, but nope, she doesn't know that either.
So not only is our mental health system failing us, but our general health system is failing us too. GPs don't even know what to do with us when, at the bare minimum, they have the ability to Google basic s***
World wide we have this issue. It's not that hard to learn about mental health when far too many people struggle with it. I mean, why the f*** does my GP know about my specific sinus issues that are rare, but she doesn't seem to know anything about mental health???
