Sad to say it, but it’s doubtful that your relative will awaken — oxygen loss can cause permanent and irreversible brain damage.

I’m still a bit skeptical in re the OP (the post not the poster!): I have no experience, nor could I find other’s experiences, of trips lasting for weeks, or instances of gonzo-doses resulting in insanity. Temporary psychosis, yes, anxiety, etc., but nothing permanent.

I’m a skeptic and a bit of a cynic at heart. When I first read an FOAF (Friend of a friend) story my radar is engaged!
ummm not all cases of drug over dosage ends up in journals and court systems so of course lexisnexis wont have the accurate information you are looking for. you might want to call your local police department and your state and county department of health. they will have the information you are looking for. also any medical doctor can also give you this information on whether or not they treated any LSD over dosages and what the outcomes were (they wont be able to tell you actual names and such but they can tell you whether they have treated LSD over dosages and what the symptoms, lasting affects and whether they went into a coma or not or died.

you can also read the obits in your local news paper. many times they tell whether the person died of an accidental or purposeful suicide by drug over dosage.

you can also go to your local chapter or NA (Narcotics Anon. ) they will also give you factual information on LSD, its side effects and what an over dose can do, they may even be able to contact family or an actual person who did this, to talk with you about the realities of LSD and what an over dose does.

many high schools and colleges now also visit places like the county morgue where they have a tour and talk about actual cases as a way to prevent drugs and drug usage for their students.

some places are also doing the drug equivalent of driving while drunk simulations with the topic of most commonly used drugs. maybe you can find out if your area does this and get accurate information that way too.
