Yeah, and they don’t consider the school is too cheap to buy supplies like markers, scissors, glue, balls, etc. Some of these things get used up, others have a way of walking away, but to be able to do labs in physics, he will have to buy different types of balls , marbles, rubber bands, notebook paper (which the kids just won’t bring to class), golfing pencils because they won’t bring anything to write with either, etc. These supplies do not have much monetary value when taken alone, but over the school year, he usually ends up having to spend significant money on this, even with using the dollar store as often possible. Then, they give him health insurance with a $7500 deductible, get a medical emergency like I did, oops, you are out $7500...but wait, it gets better, each family member has to contribute $2500 towards the deductible for it to kick in for them...so medical stuff is 100% out of pocket for my husband and daughter even though I ran the total deductible up to $7500 because neither one has yet had $2500 of out of pocket medical expenses.
I called the charity worker at the hospital. Voice mail. I am so depressed today. I jus5 want to give up.
I need a social worker or something and God, I cannot find one. Texas is truly the suckiest state to live in if you need any sort of social help! Oh, but they always ask if you are Hispanic or Latino, which makes me suspect there is extra help if you are. Apparently, I should qualify for less help because I am white, even if I grew up dirt poor...! This state and country are messed up!
Oh, and I could just get benefits if I divorced. The state would rather tear a family apart to get any sort of aid than keep a child living in a 2 parent home
