So I've been doing this for a few weeks now and the results are mixed. My affirmations are:
1. I deserve to be sober
2. I deserve a nice clean apartment to live in.
3. If I put the work in, I'll find a room mate.
4. I can get back to work within a year.
My gratitude list changes daily.
So results. Sober positive, I've drunk a couple of times, but it's a lot less.
Cleaning not so much, but I'm blaming that on the heat as much as anything. It's just too hot to do anything, but I've given myself a deadline of Sept. 11, as I'm having friends over that day, and my apartment needs to be clean for them.
Room mate - in process. I'm taking steps, like I just ordered a bed frame, so there will be a proper bed in the room I'm trying to rent out.
Work - longer term.
My counsellor in the addiction program I just finished, suggested adding an action statement to each one, of one small thing I can do each day to move forward on my goals. That strikes me as sensible, so I'm going to start doing that today.
