I have hated technology for a long time. HOWEVER....We can't totally condemn communication systems. I ride the bus everyday and I hear many conversations on the cellphones. People call friends they are on their way to meet and they wish to confirm the location. People call work to let them know that the buses are running late. People use cellphones to make appointments, answer crisis calls, to inform their kids they are running late, to order a gift for a friend, to inquire about a loved one's health, or simply to communicate. With technology, too many of us are communicating this way...by typing and emailing. To hear a voice on the other end is important as time schedules clash with meeting plans, training is bumped up an hour earlier and flights are being delayed. As you rush through traffic to meet an appointed time, they call you to let you know that the doctor has to cancel appointments for the afternoon because his patient just went into labor. A cousin calls while you are rushing through traffic to pick up last minute stuff before the wedding and the bride's maids' dresses are ready for pick-up.

Need I go on?
