I was the same, I was all or nothing, at the gym every day or not at all. It affected my eating too.
I have managed to find the balance and that for me is doing a HIIT workout every day.
I come home from work, and the first thing I do it a 10-20 minuter HIIT workout on YouTube, then relax and make dinner etc.
I feel great and the routine keeps me from obsessing too much over it.
