Heaven help me I acquired a new kitten this week. I swore after Krissy died, no more cats. Five is plenty. Like that saying goes... humans make plans, the universe laughs.
I was at the barn feeding Tuesday morning and BG started dancing around trying to get my attention. I turned around and he was sniffing a tiny kitten!  Blew me away. My barn is W-A-Y off the road. She must have walked to get there, but it would have been a mighty hike to get there given her tiny little legs.
So it seems there is a new addition to the crew. She's probably around 6-8 weeks old. A tortoiseshell with yellow eyes. Very loving. Skinny as a rail. She was filthy when I found her but my grass is taller than she is. She probably got dirty wandering around the property. She's got some fleas, but I don't know of anything I can use on her given her age. I'm going to give her a bath later today.
I'm still puzzled how she got to the farm. Well, not puzzled. She had to have walked, but, again, the barn is a l-o-n-g way from anything else.
She doesn't have a name yet. My experience is that they tell me their name when the time is right.
We have an appointment at the vet Tuesday for a check up. She seems healthy, but I want to make sure.
