I also had severe depression and anxiety when I quit, cold turkey. But it went away after a few months and I just told myself that the only way to be through with this forever is to never take another puff. Have you talked to your pdoc about this? Rationing cigarettes increases the fixation and strength of the addiction. I thought for the longest time I was a hopeless addict and would never be able to successfully quit but that was a lie of the addiction.
