When I was 17 (many many years ago ) I too went through a severe depression. And I lost many months of my high school experience...Thank God! I have 4 children, all who have made it through high school..Thank God Again! Anyway...what I always told them was "People will say these are the best years of your life...but they're NOT...they are some of the most difficult!" 3 of my children do not have the depression that I had/have dealt with, but the youngest unfortunately does. She too lost a lot of her high school experience ..Thank God yet again. But she has had therapy to handle the "issues" involved with depression and takes medication daily....and now is a junior in college and loving it.....things will get better..and that's not to say it won't be work...but they do get better....just follow the plan that you and hopefully your Dr of therapist work out. Good luck
