Yeah, that was the tail end of the time when they still made things to last. Each of my last 2 microwaves has only lasted two years. My current TV is on the fritz and it's 4 years old! My parents bought one from Sears in 1973 and it worked like a charm up to the day my mom sold it along with the house in 2001. (That is NOT a typo nor an exaggeration!) Never had a minute's problem with it.
