The world has the potential for that innocence. Actually, I believe that it retains that kind of innocence. The kind that a child's mind knows, but loses to experience. But the memory of that innocence is still there, just not as readily recalled - the unicorn brings that recall into sharp contrast with the learned experience. A mixture of emotions is a likely result, but if it keeps that sense of innocence in the conscious realm, that, IMO is a good & healthy thing. As is any emotion involved with missing your GF...
