Interestingly enough my son took Guanfacine (Tenex, Intunive) for many years to help with tics. I recall something about it also being used as a non-stim treatment for ADHD.

If I'm not mistaken, its primary raison d'être was for hypertension and I think it may be in the same class as Clonidine, that you'd mentioned.
