I got back to Lake City, Florida in June 2017. So I have been back one year and about three months. For the first month I stayed in motel rooms until the Veterans' Domiciliary could admit me. During that time I drank beer continually. Never once did I have a memory black-out.
But, after moving back into the domiciliary I have had five to six black-outs at the two pubs that I have frequented a billion times since moving up to Lake City. I do not understand it. I remember entering the pubs and having the first few beers, then boom! I do not remember anything else and do not remember how I got back to the domiciliary. In a couple of cases I lost my credit card.
One pub is named the Long Branch and the other pub is named O'Dells. The Long Branch is across the street from the VA Clinic. O'Dells is right down the road from the entrance to the Domiciliary.
The last black-out occurred on Wednesday, September 5 at O'Dells. I remember going in, Mike was bar tending, and I remember ordering a pitcher of beer. Then boom! I do not remember anything else and do not remember getting back to the domiciliary. This time I did not lose my credit card, but I lost my eye glasses and room keys. It makes me extremely angry.
I suspect I am switching personalities. But I am wondering if someone has learned how to trigger me and is doing it on purpose. I had told myself that I was not going to take my credit card to the bar anymore. Now, that is a definite. I am giving the card to the administration to hold for me until I need it for something other than alcohol!!!!
