Don't worry about it. Most people in AZ are transplants from somewhere else anyway. I was born in AZ and grew up in Florida and am back in AZ so end up with Southern pronouncations and slang (y' all) if I am not careful - then I get laughed at.

Almost everyone here has some kind of accent -they just pretend thhey don't. I have a friend who has lived here 30 years but was born and raised in England and she swears she has no accent (she is wrong).
