I approach all these subjects with uncertainty.
Forgiveness: Though I do not wish to diminish the psychic value of genuine interpersonal forgiveness, I tend to prefer the approach of those therapists who do not demand it of their patients. My observation is forced forgiveness is not forgiveness. Unless it grows and ripens "naturally," forgiveness will not provide its advertised benefits. We
might be able to nurture true forgiveness through developing an understanding of those who have injured us, but in the real world understanding does not always lead to forgiveness.
"How much sugar can we eat without going blind?" Reading this the first thing that comes to mind is diabetic retinopathy. Of course, the potential illnesses
associated with insulin resistance and chronic hyperinsulinemia are many. The short answer is "I have no idea."
Various sources I've seen, however, would caution against a narrow focus on sugar.
If the main culprit is a chronic state of elevated insulin, then
all foods - including "healthy foods" - that easily break down into glucose or glucose+fructose need to be taken into consideration.
Regarding sugar and depression, ...

As much as I have attempted to separate the wheat from the chaff, relying primarily on peer-reviewed literature, I suspect just about everyone, including those in the white coats, has some sort of agenda. Some solid information exists, but it all seems surrounded by institutional "scaffolding."
Question everything, and don't ignore your own experience.
