Silver, your first visit you'll probably start by filling out some paper work designed to gather background info about you, your family, and your problems. It's helpful to know your immediate families medical history when filling this out but if you don't know something, just move on.

When you get in to see your therapist, they often start with something like, "so what brings you in to see me." It's all pretty casual and he/she will be trying to get a handle on your situation and how to help you. Just be honest with them and this part is pretty easy.

Things usually wrap up with his/her best guess as to what your deal is and their proposed treatment plan. They may also ask if you're willing to see a psychiatrist for medication.

It's usually not until subsequent visits that you really get into it so don't worry too much about this first visit.

Good luck!
