Hello! I understand what you're saying here.

Honestly, sometimes I do get memories from my childhood where not-so-nice things happen to me and I see it in the third-person. Almost like it's a movie.

My guess is that it's a way to try and distance yourself from what happened. Your mind may have tried to frame it in a way so it won't hurt as bad. To try and paint it as if you weren't the one in that situation, even though you know for a fact that you were.

Some kind of coping mechanism, I'd think.
