Sorry to hear about everything. It sounds like you're ok today food wise after feeling ill? Or is your stomach still bothering you?
If you're overeating, what about chowing down on some veggies and fruits if you're not doing that? Or you could eat stuff with whole grains (e.g., brown rice or whole grain bread, as long as neither of those things are ultra processed since ultra processed whole grains are no different than bleached rice or bleached bread). They're both satisfying and healthy for you, except the whole grains may have high carbs. You can also fill your remaining hunger with some water.
I like to make Mexican rice with whole grain rice with veggie stock, and honestly, I can't tell the difference between white rice and whole grain rice. And veggie stock doesn't taste much different than chicken stock when you make the rice if you do it right. Most of the flavor comes from the tomato sauce/paste, onion, and cumin anyway. That's just one example of healthy food I like to make that tastes great.
As for your cd, are you sure your cd player isn't making scratches or causing the skipping? Try cleaning out the cd player with canned air. If not that, then disassemble the cd player by undoing the screws and cleaning the cleaning the laser. It's super easy:
