Knee surgery, no walking on my leg for 3 months, tons on PT, I went downhill skiing on intermediate slopes the 2nd week, 6 months after surgery (wearing my knee brace of course)

At 65 I am still climbing in & out if my truck bed, riding horses & hiking. I can't imagine life without being able to be so active in spite of all the broken bones I've had coming off horses the hard way. I think keeping moving & exercising helps keep the arthritis from getting bad in all my injured places like the ortho who monitored my compression fracture of my back said would happen as I get older. Dang it was hard not to mow or pick up anything weighing more than 5 lbs while my back was healing for 6 months.
Independence is essential - especially since I’m alone. I’d dread having to use a walker or being laid up for any amount of time. My walks are the highlight of my days mostly - I know someday the mobility will end but you don’t want to admit it.....
