I have a new pdoc and was concerned she might stop benzos. She has made some great points about long-term benzo use, etc. However, she has left the ultimate decision up to me.

I still have access to benzos; yet, have been very surprised by how helpful I have found gabapentin.

Some pdocs will prescribe benzos; some will not.
You might have to change docs to obtain a benzo script.
