Is there, or should there be, a guideline about how many posts in a row to make in a single thread?

Some members apparently don't know how to use the multi-quote feature, so instead they quote several posts in a row individually and add a very short "me too" kind of answer. They may end up with a dozen or so successive "me too" posts on any given thread. It's more annoying than anything else, but I've seen forums where they limit individuals to three posts in a row in the same thread. After that they can't post in the same thread again until somebody else does.
for me I dont believe or feel that there should be a limit. some people have trouble with long posts. their attention spans, medications and mental disorders and learning disorders may make is so that they cant use the multi qoute. feature.

i am one that does not use multi quote. I did for a bit but that caused confusions with some members who due to many problems thought I was directing my replies to each of the quotes to only one member. I very quickly went back to doing individual postings so that everyone knew what my posts were about and who I was directing my replies to.

besides this problem I sometimes have trouble with the english language. I use translators. the translators that I use do not understand multi quoting when I am doing my replies. in order for me to write a reply with a quote I have to click on the reply button not the multi quote button.

another thing is sometimes I use my cell phone... my cell phone does not recognize the multi quote button. I only see the reply button with my cell phone..

My point is there probably is many reasons why a person doesnt use or cant use the multi quote button, and it isnt always because they dont know how to use it. it all depends upon ones own preferences, and ones own devices that are being used to post on psych central.

I am glad though that you enjoy using it.
