And yes, my H is very controlling. He wants to control almost every aspect of my life. He used to be worse! He used to be really abusive. Now that my dad lives with us, my H directs his frustrations at him and not me.

YOU want your mother in law to move in with you? Abuse is never okay, and it's not that he stopped he just transferred it all to someone else. What happens if your dad moves out? Is H actively even searching to find work?
