I did this too. However, bipolar didn't really hit me hard until my mid-twenties. I was depressed a lot and showing some symptoms of bipolar in college though, and I had the horrible anorexia.

But handwriting things helped me. Highlighting important stuff or things I most seemed to forget.

Coffee too though unfortunately that is not good for sleep.
