Had meeting with my son's teachers today. He's suspected to be on the autism spectrum and they said he is scapegoated by the other kids a lot. They are working on it. The teacher last year just let this dynamic develop and now these teachers are trying to undo the mindset that's developed amongst these kids that it's okay to blame him for everything and to laugh at him. I don't even know how possible it is to undo that collective mentality (kids are 7 and 8). I am seriously considering looking at the local private school. It's expensive but if his happiness is at stake I don't know what else to do.

Would they pay for special ed? I'm on the autism spectrum and was in one special ed school I liked.
