I learned of this word from reading some obscure dark comedy movie critique. It stuck with me. So, I knew of it before I even knew of Avenue Q.
Later, when I eventually came across the Ave Q song online--the lyrics were perfectly in line with the way I think of this word! Sarcasm and good humor.
