Did anybody see the new ABC series "A Million Little Things"? In it, a seemingly-happy man commits suicide. His three close friends are all rocked by it and decide to take charge of their lives. At the end the cast appeared and made a plea regarding suicide, saying depression is serious and to call a crisis line if you're considering suicide.
I'm wowed. I'm pleased that depression and suicide are making it into the public discourse enough to make it into prime time television. It wasn't really a typical suicide tho, in that it didn't show a long, slow slide into depression. Maybe future eps will reveal his private struggle.
The second ep is tomorrow. I'll be tuning in.
