Not sure where to put this but here seemed to suffice.

I was telling my therapist about a leadership tool passed on to me I call the 'three bean' technique. I won't detail it but she asked me to apply the technique to myself.

It is simple really....

Start with three coffee beans (or small objects) in your left hand pocket. As you encounter/think a negative thought transfer a bean to your right hand pocket. But also transfer beans back to your left hand pocket every time you discover/think the positive.

The idea is to end your day on a positive note with all three beans back in the left hand pocket. The idea is that you are forced to limit your unhelpful thoughts all the while actively looking for positives.

When she retooled this technique for unhelpful Vs helpful thinking it made great sense. I have two beans back in the left pocket as I type.
