Spent and Rest

I feel spent and weary
And don’t know how to rest
…“Come to me” you say,
“And I’ll give your rest”…

So I come seeking this rest
To be freed of all anxiety
To trust in your care
So I’ll not despair

Make me to see
Where I am blind
Help me to know
Your love sublime

Please let me hear your
Gentle voice amidst the noise
And help me to listen
Becoming more aware

God, I do thank you
For loving me so much
For all your tender mercies
And for your gentle ways

For your grace that’s sufficient
And for being assured
Of renewing my strength
Then do the work you’d have me do

Thank you my God for giving to me
A place to be and learn to rest
For helping me to come to you in
Hope and trusting in your love for now
