I feel you. I am the kind of person who puts myself WAY out there to help a friend. I make promises, I make commitments, and I keep them. When my turn comes (and I very rarely ask) - ha. Nobody's home, nobody will stand in my corner. I've become extremely distrustful of people. When I was young I was so open-hearted. Not anymore.
