I’m thinking of getting a rabbit as a pet. I’ve been doing my research and talking to people who own rabbits. I know their cages have to be kept extremely clean or they can get sick. and they have to be taken to the vet every year. I also have been told they don’t always like to be held. And they have to stuff to chew on so their teeth don’t keep growing. The person I talked to says it’s best to get two rabbits because they get lonely but he has one and it seems fine. I think rabbits live a pretty long time?

I get the idea of “adopt don’t shop” however, all of my rodents and small animals were bought at pet stores. guinea pigs, hamsters, and birds. All of my rodents and small animals were perfectly healthy and lived long happy life’s. We had zero problems. I get that there are shelters and rescues near me that have rabbits. I don’t have the patience to deal with rescues and shelters anymore. I’ve had more trouble and more of a hassle and more dishonesty dealing with them then I’ve had with dealing with petstores.

Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on rabbits or anything else I’ve mentioned?
