have you asked about trimming down the number of depression drugs? not trying to tell you what to do, but..the zoloft and effexor have some overlap, plus more drugs=more drug+drug interactions...

Yes, she said we will eventually trim down on some. We have already trimmed down on the flupentixol.

I'm prescribed clonazepam, up to 1mg a day as needed. I keep it for emergencies only though. I used to take it a few times a week, then less and less as my panic attacks lessened and my anxiety decreased. Now I've had the same bottle since February cause I've only taken it a handful of times since then. I like having it around just in case but it's not something I'd want to take regularly. It's very helpful though when I do take it and I hope it helps you, just be careful about staying on it long term. Many people's body gets used to it then they require more and more for it to be effective and I heard it's extremely difficult to come off of after long term use like that

Interesting. I worked in dental and have never heard of using meds for that. I grind in my sleep and I wear a nightguard. It works well and I sleep better with it.
That said I take clonazepam to sleep sometimes. 1mg tablet. I'm not allowed to take it daily as my doctor doesnt want me to develop the tolerance. My doctor is quite uptight about benzos, sleeping pills, etc.

My understanding is that on any dosage, eventually you will build up tolerance and need more. I've heard directly from a friend who went down that road and became addicted to benzos and struggled to come off them. I dont think clonazepam is as addictive as say xanax, but it's good to be aware.

Yes, the muscle relaxant properties make it a possible short-term aid. Further treatment one may seek is Botox injected into the muscles.

She made it relatively clear that she does not think that cutting down on the Zoloft is a good idea. I will see how it goes. Maybe the flupentixol was a factor as well.
