So I have had bad luck with the dentists lately. Basically I feel they are all money grubbing and trying to do work that isn't necessary.

I have damage to my teeth and I literally do not know how it happened. It is severe grinding down of the enamel. This does not, at the moment, create any problem for me. I went to the dentist for the first 30 years of my life.

But every single time I go to any dentist they just keep talking about it. Asking me how it happened even though I told them a zillion times I don't know how... trying to scare me into having all my teeth removed. They say I will need to do that. I refuse to believe that when I do not have any pain or problem -- other than them saying this for at least 10 years.

All of these things I have decided against unless and until I have reason to do so. Pain or otherwise.

But it has gotten so bad I am avoiding the dentist. I got into a fight with the last dentist I went to see because she wouldn't focus on what I wanted her to do -- focusing on the teeth.

This week my teeth have been feeling nasty and I decided to make an appointment for a cleaning. What I would like to do is just say -- upfront -- these things

(1) please do not ask me about the wearing down issue. I don't know how it happened but what I do know is that I will not get a night guard or anything else. Just don't say anything.

(2) If you see a cavity or anything other than cancer I do not want to hear about it. I will not have a dental exam. I will not see the dentist at this time. I do not want to get x-rays. I just want my teeth cleaned and that is all.

(3) Please do not tell me I have peritoneal disease, gingivitis or anything else. I have been told such things a ZILLION times.. including being told I needed "deep cleaning" and frankly, 20+ years later.. none of that is true. Again, I just want a cleaning.

Is there anyway I can get this message through without seeming like a problem?
